Artificial intelligence is rapidly entering healthcare, but many patients and advocates are unsure how to use it effectively. In this session, healthcare innovation strategist and two-time open-heart surgery survivor John Duffield shares how he used AI during his own cardiac journey to interpret medical information, prepare for appointments, and organize complex care decisions. Through real-world examples, participants will explore how AI tools can support health literacy, strengthen communication with care teams, and empower patients navigating complicated healthcare experiences. This course has been approved for 1 General CE by the Patient Advocate Certification Board.
